Paul was born in the North East of England. He has always overcome challenges and defied the odds stacked against him.
After graduating in Exercise Sciences aged 21 he worked with professional athletes at Newcastle United FC in Strength and Conditioning.
Working in an elite environment sparked many questions.
"Why aren't some of the principles used here available to all people?"
And "Why a do some players cost the same as a children's cancer ward?"
Paul entered the world of medical research at Newcastle University Medical School, one of the top medical schools in the UK.

He completed an MRes in Medical and Molecular Biosciences and PhD in Clinical Research developing the first wrist-worn activity-sleep monitor, now common in research and used commercially (Garmin, Apple).
The world was seeing large changes in modern lifestyles causing a dramatic rise in 'chronic' lifestyle related diseases. In fact 75% of all deaths the occur each year are cause by lifestyle.
Clinical research scientist
Health was initially defined simply as the absence of disease. However, the correct definition is:
"a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease"
WHO
Despite this, modern healthcare focuses almost completely on treating disease and ignores 70 years of research that shows most of it (75%) can be prevented.
Paul moved to Sunderland University to develop new ways of approaching science, development of a new medical school, engaging in media work, creating health and entrepreneurship programmes.
Ultimately, Paul realised a completely new approach to wellbeing is needed to empower people to take control of their own life.
